Many of us who are fond of reading are well aware about the quality of the contents and the manuals and standards that are there to protect the standards of the content written in various books. Though reading is a good habit but at times it can prove to be a disadvantage. Here in this article we will highlight the pros and cons of reading as a hobby. These are as follows:

Advantage of Reading as a hobby

There are a lot of things that you get to explore while you turn the pages of the books. Ranging from the age old traditions to the latest inventions, all are collected and preserved in the books. Not only does reading act as an exercise for your brain but at the same time, it also acts as the medium to enhance your knowledge and vocabulary. You improve your language skills while reading.

Disadvantages of Reading as a hobby

In case you are reading for the sake of appearing in some examination then there is no other thing in the world that is as boring as reading. However, if you read because you find it interesting then the downside of reading begins to show its face. Firstly, your eye sight gets affected due to continuous reading. Apart from this you tend to become a book worm. Taking pleasure of going about reading the books keeps you away from the first-hand experience that you get by travelling across the boundaries. In addition to this it tends to make your life monotonous and boring. You tend to pay less attention towards the other means of recreation that include the outdoor activities that in turn helps you to keep active and going.
